BR Factory: 50% – 70% off + addit. 25% off  (9/1-9/8)

And it’s BRF to first sprint out of the blocks for the big Labor Day sales push.

BR Factory will often do a 50% off + additional 20% off deal. That’s solid (math works out to 60% off total MSRP). So to see them drop an additional 25% off AND some select styles are 60% or even 70% off to start with… that’s extra nice.

BR Factory is a favorite around these parts for balancing style and price. Quality won’t be as good as mainline Banana Republic, but the prices are so much lower that it’s hard to ignore them. That, and they tend to make good stuff. (Just avoid their all synthetic suits and blazers. Seems like they’re making more of those and less of the wool blend/cotton blend/linen blends.)

Off we go with the picks. Lots of new fall arrivals as well.

Corduroy Collar Quilted Jacket – $75 ($200) 62.5% off

Outerwear season is back, and here’s BRF’s take on a classic quilted field jacket… in black. Not the standard earth tones. Yes they have a green option too, but the black makes it a little more modern looking, while still firmly rooted in rural/field style.

100% Merino Crewnecks – $33.75 ($90) 62.5% off

Probably the best sub $50 sweaters on the market. 100% merino. A note on cleaning: They may say you can machine wash them, but… as they’re 100% merino and wool is naturally anti-microbial, just take them to the dry cleaner on the occasion you spill something or you sweat them up real good. “Machine washable” merino sweaters sometimes don’t quite live up to the billing (as washers can really vary depending on how gentle their gentle cycles are).

100% Merino V Necks – $33.75 ($100) 62.5% off

And the V-necks. Just four colors so far. C’mon BRF, give us gray and black too! Repeating for emphasis: They may say you can machine wash them, but… as they’re 100% merino and wool is naturally anti-microbial, just take them to the dry cleaner on the occasion you spill something or you sweat them up real good. “Machine washable” merino sweaters sometimes don’t quite live up to the billing (as washers can really vary depending on how gentle their gentle cycles are).

Softwash Shirts in Slim or Standard Fit – $28.12 ($75) 62.5% off

Something to wear under the merino sweaters, or on its own with jeans or chinos. Sometimes you just need a shirt. These fit that bill, for a relatively low bill. Two fits and a few different colors (including a versatile chambray) helps as well.

Traveler Cords – $39.37 ($105) 62.5% off

One of those items from BRF that’s good enough you’d be likely to ask “why would I pay for the mainline version?” 96% cotton/4% elastane, and it actually feels like there’s more stretch in there. They move that well, as shown above. Machine wash cold/tumble dry low.

Traveler Jeans in SlimAthletic, or Straight Fit – $45 ($115) 61% off

Size shown: 32×32 athletic fit on 5’10″/180.

Note: These are excluded from the additional 25% off, but as they’re 60% off or more AND they’re kinda sorta terrific… they’re worthy of a mention. Especially as we hit fall.

Boots. Sweaters. Jeans. ‘Tis the season, or at least it will be soon enough. These Traveler Jeans from BR Factory are surprisingly great for the asking price. They’re super comfortable with lots of stretch. A blend of cotton, poly, tencel, and lycra. A real favorite.

Vegan Suede Bombers – $63.75 ($170) 62.5% off

“Vegan suede” can go real wrong in a hurry. But BRF has a good track record when it comes to their vegan suede jackets. So you end up with a jacket made from a rich looking fabric, instead of something that appears to have been lifted off a cheap hotel lobby couch.

Luxe Touch T-Shirts – $16.87 ($45) 62.5% off

Luxe Touch T-Shirts

Super smooth mercerized cotton. BRF’s take on dressy t-shirts. Not broken in/super slubbed/or made to look like an old favorite. Smooth, clean, and neat. Just know that some mercerized cotton garments can shrink in the wash. Sometimes.

Linen Blend Chore Jacket – $39 ($130) 70% off

For those whom summer isn’t quite done with yet. Been wearing something similar all summer (even in brutal heat) and it’s done a great job keeping sunburn at bay while still staying cool. Always nice to have pockets for sunglasses, a bandana, phone, etc. Price is extra nice too.

Heritage Bomber Jacket in 100% Nylon – $56.25 ($150) 62.5% off

Heritage Bomber Jacket in 100% Nylon

True outerwear. Nylon shell. Not some knit sweater-jacket hybrid. Pocket on the right sleeve which is a signature of the bomber style.

Lived in Chinos in SlimSlim Straight, or Athletic Fit – $35.62 ($95) 62.5% off

Banana Republic Factory lived-in chinos

BR Factory’s stretch cotton chinos. 97% cotton, 3% spandex. All the colors you’d expect. Even has the “butt patch” just like mainline BR chinos.

Classic Trench – $93.75 ($250) 62.5% off

Mac jackets may be more simple, but a classic trench sure can be… eye catching. 66% cotton, 34% polyester keeps the shine down you’d find emanating from cheap all poly outerwear. Also available in Inspector Gadget khaki.

Oxford Cloth Button Downs – $30 ($80) 63% off

BRF’s take on the timeless OCBD. A bit more heft than their softwash poplin shirts, but still shouldn’t be heavy or stiff.

Travel Pants in Slim or Athletic Fit – $39.37 ($95) 62.5% off

Shown above: Size 32×32 athletic fit on 5’10″/180.

Soft, stretch-infused, versatile five-pocket-style pants. When you want to wear jeans but don’t want to wear jeans and don’t want to wear chinos/khakis either. They do seem to shrink up a little in the wash. So know that.

Standard-Fit “Premium Wash” Tees – $11.25 ($30) 62.5% off

Looks like standard, tried-and-true, 60/40 cotton poly tees. But that’s not a bad thing. And they sure have lots of colors.

100% Merino Quarter Zip Sweaters – $37.50 ($100) 62.5% off

Corporate looking quarter zips might have gone viral last year, but staying employed is always in style. Especially now.

98% Cotton/2% Spandex Slim or Athletic Fit Dress Shirts – $30 ($80) 62.5% off

For when you just want a (cheap) dress shirt. No neck and sleeve sizing though. Alpha sizes from XS – XXL only. Do be aware that there’s a little internal contrast piping around one seam at the collar. Some guys like a little extra detail like that, some hate it, some won’t care.

Linen-Cotton Blend Jacket – $127.50 ($340) 62.5% off

Unlined back makes it comfortable during warm (if not hot) early fall days. Brown color + texture of the linen cotton fabric makes it look “tweedy” enough for fall and winter use. 55% linen / 33% cotton / 2% elastane. Size shown above is an unaltered 40R on 5’10″/180.

Mini Ribbed Henleys – $26.25 ($70) 62.5% off

It’s hard to beat a good henley. They’re equal parts casual and masculine. 97% cotton, 3% elastane spandex.

The 50% – 70% off + additional 25% off Labor Day event at BR Factory is set to run through Tuesday 9/8. Basic outbound shipping is $7.50 unless you’re one of their rewards members, and then free shipping kicks in at different spend levels. Returns are free, although those outbound shipping charges are non refundable.
