The Saint Laurent Simone Bag Has Arrived

Saint Laurent has one of the most recognizable logos in fashion history. Its bold, distinct YSL has remained a mainstay even after the brand dropped its Yves to become simply Saint Laurent. And while so many of our favorite designer Houses continue to navigate creative-director transitions and shifting aesthetics, at Saint Laurent, it’s very much Anthony Vaccarello’s world, and we’re just living in it.
Since taking the creative reins, Vaccarello has continued to hone in on Saint Laurent’s core aesthetic and target customer, playing with variations of the House’s tried-and-true silhouettes and codes. His vision feels both distinctly modern and unmistakably Saint Laurent, balancing the enduring allure of the DNA defined by Yves Saint Laurent with a wardrobe and accessory offering designed for the modern woman.
That consistency feels particularly refreshing in today’s luxury fashion climate, where creative-director musical chairs have left many brands in a constant state of transition. At Saint Laurent, Vaccarello’s aesthetic remains clear and recognizable season after season, and that vision extends to the brand’s handbags, which have become some of the most coveted bags of the 2020s.
Saint Laurent remains one of the rare luxury Houses that doesn’t show its handbags on the runway, but that hasn’t stopped its accessory collections from delivering plenty of hits. From newer silhouettes to beloved House staples like the Loulou, Saint Laurent continues to strike that sweet spot between fashion-forward and highly wearable.

Vaccarello’s latest bag, which we first caught a glimpse of last week on none other than Bella Hadid, fully encapsulates what he does best—taking Saint Laurent’s signature House codes and making them feel modern and fresh. This time, that refresh is centered around the brand’s iconic YSL Cassandre logo.
Introducing the Saint Laurent Simone Bag
This season, the Simone makes its debut, a new silhouette that is as sleek as it is highly wearable—and we are immediately locked in. Defined by a chic, envelope-inspired shape, the Simone features thin handles that, ironically, envelop the bag, extending from the bag’s body rather than being attached at the top of the shape—a trend we’ve seen recently on bags like the Chanel Preppy Coco and, most recently, on the runway at Prada.

And, in true Vaccarello form, there is a hint of history at play here, with the envelope shape tying back to personal letters once written by Monsieur Saint Laurent. The Simone is a play on the envelope pouches that ruled in the ’70s and ’80s, but reimagined for daily wear.
The Details: Sizes, Materials, and Pricing
While simple at first glance, the Simone focuses on elevated construction, its supple leather and relaxed shape balancing the bag’s structural lines. Finishing it off is the classic gold YSL Cassandre in a new shadowed construction that adds dimensionality.
The Simone arrives in two sizes—medium and large—in both leather and suede options in a range of colors and neutrals alike. The Simone is priced at $3,900 for the medium in leather, $4,400 for the large in suede, and $4,600 for the large in leather. Discover below.
