Tinker Hatfield’s Nike Air Safari Inspires This SB Release

The Nike SB PS8 evaporated from public consciousness as quickly as it arrived, making a splashy debut at the 2024 Olympics but doing little to maintain its relevance since. This latest release might have enough cultural pull to change that, sporting a familiar “Cobblestone/Monarch” colorway reminiscent of Tinker Hatfield’s iconic Nike Air Safari from 1987.

Nike’s entire 2024 Olympics collection centered around safari prints, including one PS8 colorway that came awfully close to the pair we have before us today. This new version pulls off an even more accurate “Safari” impression, distinguished by a black Swoosh and black paint at the top of the midsole. A somewhat random theme to revisit two years later, but fans of the seldom-discussed model should take it as a win regardless.
