PUMA And _J.L-A.L_ Rekindle Their Partnership On The Cell GEO-1

With their inaugural drop back in March, PUMA and _J.L-A.L intended to break from the high speed cadence at which new collabs dot the modern landscape. The brand chose the PUMA Cell GEO-1 as the silhouette for that debut effort, a merger between “modern” running shoe sensibilities and the springy Cell tech that the Big Cat introduced towards the turn of the century.

The black and amber pairs that the two partners dropped earlier this year were distinct for wearaway uppers, intended to be lived in and thus change form in the process of their natural life cycle. Here, _J.L-A.L- turns their attention to the geometric aspects of the Cell GEO-1’s heel, a sharp departure from the smooth textures of their last capsule. a full-length synthetic shroud wraps the model, with pocked cut-outs across the upper, side cage, and tongue. If you’re able to work through the trypophobia trigger, you’ll find that the Formstrip is cleverly adapted within that detail. Leaning into their high-fashion major, J.L-A.L. leans on two flooded colorways, one in a rich brown and one in a more essential white/off-white.

The _J.L-A.L_ x PUMA Cell GEO-1 doesn’t carry a firm release date via PUMA, but various retail calendars have these dropping before the end of August. We’ll keep this page updated with a concrete date once we have it.
