Ferragamo Debuts the Sleek New Cara Bag

Since the beginning, the House of Ferragamo has undergone many iterations of change. In the 2020s, a new renaissance has taken place under the watchful eye of Creative Director Maximilian Davis, who joined Ferragamo in early 2022.

Now, four and a half years into his tenure at the storied Florentine House, Davis continues to explore the rich history and tradition of the Ferragamo name, creating a link between past and present. The brand’s newest bag, which first debuted on the Fall 2026 runway, is the perfect example of that—the epitome of sleek style and expert Italian craft.

The Cara Bag: A New Ferragamo Icon

The Cara bag, which is one of the brand’s most modern silhouettes to date, is defined by its architectural lines, strong shape, and distinct Gancini closure—a pillar of the House of Ferragamo. The Gancini motif has withstood the test of time and transcended generations. It remains one of the House’s most important signifiers.

While the Cara bag’s slim profile oozes a sleek, clean vibe, its silhouette offers a roomier interior than it appears, with a three-gusset accordion structure that adds not only function but dimensional appeal.

The Cara Bag Marries Heritage With Modernity

What continues to define Davis’ Ferragamo are clean designs that let Ferragamo’s history and expertise in leather craftsmanship do the talking. The Cara, which is assembled from more than 100 different components, requires around ten hours of construction by Ferragamo’s skilled artisans.

Debuting in two sizes—XS and S—the Cara Bag is already proving to be a favorite of the celeb set, spotted on the likes of Rihanna, Monica Barbaro, Irina Shayk, and more. While the Cara bag arrives in more commercial soft calf leather versions, eye-catching exotics including eel and alligator offer an elevated take on this new Ferragamo icon in the making.
