Coach Celebrates 85 Years With a Glittering Collection for Spring 2027

Few creative directors have managed to reshape a heritage brand as completely as Stuart Vevers has at Coach. Over the past several years, he has brought the brand back to the center of the fashion conversation, turning archival codes, nostalgic silhouettes, and youth-driven trends into some of the most coveted bags of the moment—all without losing Coach’s accessibility and heritage DNA.

Now, for Spring 2027, that heritage DNA is further explored as the brand turns 85, and the celebrations kicked off last night in New York City on the eve of New York Fashion Week with a glitter-fueled runway show and after-party for the books.

Stuart Vevers Celebrates His Coach Legacy

Stuart Vevers, who has been the creative director of Coach for 13 years, has seen the brand through monumental change, and this celebration, taking place under Vevers’s watchful eye, felt very poignant. Inspired by both Coach’s rich history and the people who have made the brand what it is today, his Spring 2027 collection is about community, connectedness, and ultimately, how fashion is about more than just getting dressed.

Show notes described how “love is the message,” cementing the idea that Coach really is, and has always been, a “house that belongs to everyone.

Reinventing Coach Classics for Spring 2027

Ready-to-wear feels inherent to Vevers’s era of Coach, with reinvented versions of silhouettes that have defined his time at the brand, like a classic trench or a staple leather jacket, each with a new spin. Outerwear is deconstructed, made to look like it’s worn inside out, while elsewhere, Vevers’s love for tailoring offers a casual-cool, relaxed take, with pants gathering at the ankle and jackets often worn tied around the waist.

Of course, Coach’s iconic history in leathercraft is celebrated throughout, both within the ready-to-wear and accessories. Leather tanks are fitted with turnlock pockets or a kisslock compartment, paying homage to the brand’s many eras.

The New Coach Bags to Know

Of course, the bags, too, offer a modern-meets-vintage appeal, like the brand-new Turnlock Tote, which was shown in both leather and suede and, of course, was inspired by Bonnie Cashin. A tribute to Vevers’s era of Coach comes in the form of a new take on the fan-favorite Brooklyn Bag, given an inside-out makeover to emphasize the construction of this new icon.

Confetti, glitter, and sequins were a theme throughout, hinting at a celebration, and this was ever-apparent throughout the leather goods, with versions of the Tabby and the new Turnlock Tote reworked by hand with metallic foil, confetti, and glitter. Speaking of the Tabby, a new, cargo-esque iteration of the classic Tabby makes its debut this season. Dubbed the Collaged Tabby, it marries together elements from Coach’s past, like kisslock pouches and leather hangtags.

A Birthday Party for the Books

And if you weren’t convinced that this collection was the birthday party to end all birthday parties, in addition to leather crowns and party hats, several models carried leather parcel bags, all wrapped up and tied with a bow—with a shoulder strap, too.
