Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend or a bit earlier. Five of the better sales are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.

Nordstrom: New items & markdowns added to their End of Season Clearance

Nordstrom Handful 91026

More items added plus new markdowns have been taken on some of the stuff that was already cooking in there. And a reminder: This is mainline Nordstrom, not Nordstrom Rack. So everything should ship/return for free.

Amazon: Timex Weekender Chronograph – $60.18 ($75ish)

Pretty good price considering Timex direct has these at $100 MSRP, and on sale for $75. So Amazon has them “on sale” even compared to the Timex on sale price. Know that Amazon’s pricing robots have been extra aggressive lately. So who knows when this price will expire.

Mini Review: This is the leather strap, chronograph-equipped big brother to the cheap, base-line slip-thru weekender. 40mm case should be wearable by most. Blue dial contrasts nicely against the brown leather nato strap. Strap is a “genuine leather” that feels like something somewhere between cereal-box cardboard and store-brand beef jerky, but it looks fine and wears comfortably. Wouldn’t want to get it wet or too sweaty though. Overall would look great in pretty much any casual to smart casual situation. And while it does have the infamous Timex “tick”… it’s quieter than other Timex watches afflicted with the loud seconds hand ticking noise… simply because the seconds hand that does all the work on this watch is the tiny one on the sub dial at 6 o’clock. F = MA one can suppose. Oddly enough, activating the chronograph seconds hand (the big seconds hand) doesn’t result in a loud TICK. So… must be the standard non-chrono movement that Timex uses in their cheap watches that makes all that racket.

UNIQLO: Labor Day Specials ends tonight (Thur. 9/10)

UNIQLO OCBDs and Tees Tripod 6126

Yes indeed, UNIQLO’s Labor Day deals are still running. And it includes some of their best selling wheelhouse/foundational items. Blue, white, and grey available for the oxford cloth button downs. Lots of colors available for the 100% supima cotton tees.

Huckberry: New items added to sale

Huckberry Handful 91026

Verrry clearance-y feeling. Lots of bags (travel season is done) and white or off white pants (we’re past Labor Day). Feels like some of this stuff might be returns as well? See those USA Made American Optical Saratoga Sunglasses. Coulda sworn those sold out.

Filson: $50 off $300, $100 off $500, $175 off $750, $250 off $1000 (ends Thurs. 9/10)

Filson Labor Day 9326

Another lingering Labor Day Deal. If you’re close to the next threshold (the $499 Rugged Twill Original Briefs are a perfect example), try throwing a cheaper outlet item in there to trip the next threshold. Works with the two bags shown above, and you end up saving more in the end.

BONUS  Spier & Mackay: Up to 20% off select

One last still running Labor Day event. Spier’s new site is now live, and there’s been some changes. One of which (for now) it appears that you can’t really tell the level of discount of an item in a sale until it hits your cart. Gotta think their tech team is working on that. It’s an “up to” sale, so an item could be 10% off… could be 20% off… could be some other level of discount. Bit of a mystery, this one.
