Louise Trotter Explores the Art of Craft for Bottega Veneta Spring 2027

At the heart of Bottega Veneta lies an inherent obsession with the art of craft, and Louise Trotter continues to explore what that obsession means to her. Now three seasons into her tenure at the heritage House, Spring 2027 marks Trotter’s second Spring showing, and her vision is crystallized.

Inspired by the way the change of seasons elicits a feeling of renewal, the collection explores the idea of shedding layers to reveal the new. Garments convey movement and a metamorphosis of sorts, designed to feel as though they are in bloom.

A Study in Renewal and Movement

There is an undeniable sense of wonder and anticipation in that moment when spring quietly fades into summer, and that lightness is conveyed through soft, fluid fabrics. Dresses and skirts move with ease, while outerwear shifts between oversized and relaxed silhouettes and tailored, slim proportions. Skirts are crafted entirely from thin-cut fringe, while elsewhere, fringe acts as a design detail, appearing both on ready-to-wear and on extra-long scarves tied at the waist.

The House’s Signature Weave Takes Center Stage

Intrecciato remains at the very core of the House, and it is a central theme of this collection. While it appears in its completed form, hints of the iconic weave can be seen throughout. The woven leather pieces that make up Intrecciato, called fettucce, are mimicked across the collection, translating the House’s signature technique into new forms.

The Bags of Spring 2027

Bags, too, are a beautiful celebration of craft. Classic Intrecciato bags appear throughout, with shapes ranging from oversized shoulder bags and sleek flap bags carried as clutches to the classic Cabat. Elsewhere, Trotter has resurrected the Pouch in many forms, including smooth leather dustbag-inspired versions finished with drawstring tassels and an Intrecciato interpretation of the original Bottega Veneta The Pouch, updated with smooth leather sides and a leather drawstring closure.

Intricate details, from exaggerated fringe to laser-cut butterflies—an ode to the collection’s metamorphic theme—round out the collection.
