My Favorite $200 Chanel Accessory Is Back With a Holiday Update!

When I like something, I really like it. And that can be seen with the Chanel Purse Spray, which I have covered every single time the brand releases a new version. There’s an element of practicality that helps me move this from frivolous to purposeful, and the little Chanel details alongside the ability to hang it from my bag turn it into a full-on functional fashion accessory.
Today, Chanel launched its holiday beauty gift sets (worth checking them all out—so many great gift options), and I was thrilled to see a new variation of the Chanel Purse Spray. This time, both COCO MADEMOISELLE and N°5 scents are available in black-and-gold or white-and-gold packaging.
The Little Chanel Details That Keep Bringing Me Back
But it’s the chain and the two little charms that really get me: one is shaped like the classic Chanel perfume bottle, and the other features Gabrielle Chanel’s signature. These are the details that keep bringing me back. I have covered these purse sprays for years, and somehow, here I am wanting another one.
The gold chain can be used as a wristlet, but let’s be honest, I’m not carrying my perfume as a wristlet. I’m attaching it to my bag. And once this purse spray becomes an accessory for my bag that also happens to hold my perfume, the purchase becomes much easier for me to justify.
I know. It’s still a $200 perfume to hang from my bag. But you are reading PurseBlog, so I feel like you understand me.

A $200 Chanel Gift
Both versions are $200. And here is something I don’t get to say often when covering Chanel: since these purse sprays were first introduced two years ago at $195, the price has only increased by $5.
Considering how often we discuss price increases around here, I feel like that deserves a moment. It certainly doesn’t make $200 an insignificant purchase, but I appreciate that the price is nearly the same as it was when these first caught my eye.
For a fellow bag lover, this is also a gift you can buy without knowing which bag she wants next or what she already owns. You do need to know her fragrance preference, but that feels like a much easier bit of information to obtain. And the chain and charms make it feel a little more personal than simply picking up another bottle of her favorite perfume.

Get Ahead of Your Holiday Shopping
Yes, I know we haven’t even made it through Halloween, but I’m still telling you to get a head start. Chanel’s holiday releases are the kind of gifts I like to share when they launch, while you can choose the scent and color combination you actually want.
If you have someone on your list who would love one, this is an easy gift to buy now and put away before the holiday scramble begins. The harder part, at least for me, would be leaving it in the box until December.
