Chanel Quietly Raised Prices Again, But Only on Its Hottest New Bags

Chanel price increases are typically anything but quiet. There are rumors, whispers from sales associates, and plenty of chatter leading up to the inevitable moment when the new prices hit.

But this week, Chanel quietly raised prices on a very specific group of bags, and somehow, this one nearly flew under the radar. There were only a few mentions of a price hike in Hong Kong happening this past weekend. Then yesterday, September 23rd, confusion followed by confirmation of a price increase on Chanel Bags surfaced. First, the Chanel 25 was noted, then Matthieu Blazy’s Maxi Flap, now known as the Souplissimo, followed.

Rather than an across-the-board increase, this latest adjustment appears to focus primarily on two of the House’s newest and most talked-about handbag families: the Chanel 25 and the Chanel Souplissimo.

And there is a lot to unpack here.

Chanel Quietly Raises Prices in September 2026

As of September 2026, prices have increased across the Chanel 25 family as well as the new Souplissimo bags. Unlike some of the sweeping Chanel price increases we’ve covered over the years, many of the House’s other core bags appear to have remained unchanged.

That makes this increase particularly interesting.

The Chanel 25 is barely two years old and has quickly become one of the most recognizable new bags from the House. Even more notable is that this is already its second price increase of 2026.

The Small Chanel 25 entered 2026 priced at $6,400. In April, that price increased to $6,700. Now, just a few months later, it has crossed another threshold at $7,000.

That means the Small Chanel 25 has increased by $600, or 9.4%, this year alone.

The Medium Chanel 25 has seen an even larger jump. It started the year at $6,700, increased to $7,000 in April, and is now priced at $7,400. That is a $700 increase, or roughly 10.4%, in 2026.

It is one thing to watch the price of an established Chanel icon steadily climb over the years. It feels a bit different to see a relatively new bag move this quickly, though at this point, it’s also something we’ve grown accustomed to.

The Souplissimo Is Already Getting a Price Increase

Then there is the Souplissimo.

The Maxi Flap quickly became the standout, sought-after style star. It was every bit classic Chanel with a new twist, and fans went crazy for it. The Maxi Flap, now known as the Souplissimo, has become the bag to have, and in some ways, its initial price felt like a steal compared to the Classic Flap bags.

The Souplissimo is one of the newest bags to enter the Chanel lineup, which makes the timing of its first increase particularly noteworthy. All three sizes have increased in price, with the bags now costing several hundred dollars more than they did previously.

I’ve noticed that some new bag styles are introduced at prices that almost feel more “reasonable” compared to the rest of the lineup. Then, not long after a bag takes off, it is given a price increase. It almost makes buying immediately when a new bag launches feel like the way to go.

What About the Chanel Classic Flap?

Here is perhaps the most surprising part of this latest increase: the Chanel Classic Flap does not appear to be part of it.

As of September 23, 2026, the current U.S. prices for Chanel’s Classic Flap bags remain unchanged.

That is important because when we talk about Chanel price increases, the Classic Flap is typically the bag everyone watches first. This time, Chanel seems to be taking a far more targeted approach.

Instead, the increases are concentrated around newer bags that have generated considerable attention for the House.

Chanel Has Already Raised Prices Once This Year

Chanel implemented a broader U.S. price increase in April 2026, and the Chanel 25 was included in that round as well.

For longtime Chanel shoppers, price increases have become an expected part of buying from the House. We have been tracking them on PurseBlog for years, watching the Classic Flap in particular climb from a bag that once cost a few thousand dollars to one that now sits firmly in five-figure territory.

But watching the Chanel 25 increase twice within the same year tells a slightly different story.

The Small has gone from $6,400 to $7,000 in 2026. The Medium has gone from $6,700 to $7,400.

Whether Chanel continues to make targeted adjustments like this or this is the beginning of another broader pricing shift remains to be seen. For now, though, if the Chanel 25 or Souplissimo has been on your list, the price of entry just got a little higher.
